Using Diigo to Bookmark Websites (Individual/Group Assignment)
What is Diigo?
Diigo is a free social bookmarking, research, and knowledge sharing tool created to mimic the ease of taking notes while providing a network for sharing and discovering information.
What Does Diigo Do?
Diigo allows you to take personal notes and highlight text information on web pages just as you would on a piece of paper. You can then bookmark and save this information for further review, while adding tags to keep everything organized. In bookmarking this information, you can also choose to share with colleagues and friends to allow them to access the web page, view your notes and highlights, and add their own annotations. All of this information is also saved online and can be accessed by any computer or browser, including cell phones with browsing capabilities.
1. Review the Diigo Video located in Web 2.0 Tools.
2. Sign up for Diigo using your school email address.
3. Join the SWATTeam Diigo group.
4. Download, print, and complete the Internet Scavenger Hunt (below) and save websites in Diigo, as instructed.
5. Discuss with your assigned group in Edmodo who will be assigned to complete which questions located in the Internet Scavenger Hunt.
6 . Search for two websites, regarding technology, that interest you.
a. Use the following course tags: student, technology, leadership, SWAT, and at least two of your own.
b. Add a Description using at least two complete sentences.
c. Bookmark and Share these websites with the SWAT Diigo group.
7. Submit a link to your Diigo Account to the Using Diigo Assignment link in Edmodo.
8. As the course moves forward continue to bookmark new websites using Diigo and share to our SWAT Diigo Group.
